The school runs according to Christian values. Much importance is attached to the building of character in its students. Character is critical and no amount of intellectual or material success can overcome poor character.
Students are expected to show respect for and courtesy to each other as well as to adults. They should show understanding, sympathy, offer encouragement as well as holding strictly to the truth.
OIS aims to produce strong, upright, courageous individuals who know, without hesitation, the difference between right and wrong and are prepared to stand up in support of what they know to be right.
